While artificial intelligence continues to dominate conversations across the real estate industry, one of Australia’s most prestigious innovation awards has recognised something equally powerful: the human brain.
Leadership performance strategist Tanja Lee, Co-founder of The Evolution Agents, has been recognised at the 2026 Real Estate Business Innovation Awards as Innovator of the Year – Sales Coach/Mentor, acknowledging her pioneering work bringing neuroscience-based performance training into the Australian real estate and property industry.
For more than a decade, Lee has worked with principals, directors and high-performing agents, helping them reduce stress, improve emotional regulation and create sustainable high performance using evidence-informed principles from neuroscience, Neuro Change Solutions, leadership development and behavioural change.
“Real estate has become incredibly good at adopting technology,” says Lee.
“But AI can’t regulate your nervous system. It can’t build resilience under pressure. It can’t replace emotional intelligence, human connection or leadership presence. The future belongs to professionals who develop both technological capability and personal mastery.”
The recognition comes as stress, burnout and mental health continue to be significant challenges across the property profession, with many leaders searching for sustainable ways to improve performance without sacrificing wellbeing.
Rather than focusing solely on sales strategies, Lee’s work helps professionals understand how stress impacts decision-making, communication, confidence, leadership and client relationships and how the brain and body can be trained to perform differently.
Her work draws on contemporary neuroscience and behavioural science, making complex concepts practical and accessible for business leaders.
After a disappointing personal experience selling her own home in 2014, Lee chose not to criticise the industry from the sidelines. Instead, she dedicated her career to helping transform it from within, working with thousands of real estate professionals across Australia and New Zealand through keynote presentations, leadership programs and performance coaching.
